Keypoints
- Paper I: Focuses on the candidate’s respective subject area, either at the degree or diploma level, depending on the position applied for.
- Paper II: Divided into two parts:
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test assessing proficiency in the Tamil language at the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) standard.
- Part B: General Studies covering topics relevant to the degree or diploma standard, as applicable.
- Interview: Candidates who qualify in the written examinations are called for an interview, which carries 60 marks.

The Educational Qualification and Age Limit are given below.
- Assistant Engineer (AE): A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- Technical Assistant: A Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, or its equivalent.
- Draughtsman: A Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, or its equivalent
Generally, 18–32 years, with relaxations for reserved categories as per government norms.
