The selection will be based on two successive stages viz.

a. Computer-based examination (190 Marks)
b. Awarding Weightage marks during Certificate Verification (10 Marks based on Educational Qualification like Master’s Degree / PhD and Teaching Experience)

  • The Educational Qualification and Age Limit are given below.

    • For Engineering Aspirants: A Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture with not less than sixty percent of marks or equivalent.

    • For Non-Engineering Aspirants: First Class Master’s degree in the appropriate branch of study.

    There is NO AGE LIMIT for this exam. Candidates should not have completed 57 years as on the notification date as per G.O. (Ms) No.156 Higher Education (B1) Department Dated: 15/09/2014.

SYLLABUS – Paper I 

The selection will be based on two successive stages viz.

  • Engineering Mathematics: Linear algebra, Calculus, Differential equations, Complex variables, Probability and statistics, Numerical methods.

  • Core Civil Engineering: Mechanics, Structural analysis, Concrete structures, Steel structures, Soil mechanics, Foundation engineering, Fluid mechanics, machines, and hydrology, Water supply and waste disposal, Highway engineering.

  • Engineering Mathematics: Linear algebra, Calculus, Differential equations, Complex variables, Probability and statistics, Numerical methods.

  • Core Mechanical: Applied mechanics and strength of materials, Theory of machines and design, Theory of machines, Design of machine elements, Fluid mechanics and hydraulic machinery, Heat transfer, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering materials, Metal casting, Forming joining Processes, Machining and machine tool operations, Metrology and inspection, Computer integrated manufacturing, Production planning and control, Operations research.

  • Engineering Mathematics: Linear algebra, Calculus, Differential equations, Complex variables, Probability and statistics, Numerical methods.

  • Core Electrical & Electronics: Electric circuits and fields, Digital signal processing, Electrical machines, Power systems, Protection and switchgear, Control system, Electrical and electronics measurements, Analog and digital electronics, Power electronics and drives.

  • Engineering Mathematics: Linear algebra, Calculus, Differential equations, Complex variables, Probability and statistics, Numerical methods.

  • Core ECE: Networks, Electromagnetics, Electronic devices and circuits, Digital circuits, CMOS VLSI systems, Signal processing, Control systems, Analog and digital communication systems, Computer communication.
Civil
