The TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited) conducts the recruitment exam for the Assistant Engineer (AE) position as part of the hiring process for engineering roles in various departments. The TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) AE exam is quite competitive which will be conducted by TNPSC through Technical Services Exam. (Previously this exam was conducted directly by TANDEDCO. So this competitive Online exam shall be conducted by TANGEDCO/ TNPSC or any other agency as decided by the competent authority at that time of events.)

SELECTION PROCEDURE & EXAM PATTERN

Applicants who applied for this exam through online will be shortlisted to appear for the written exam. Based on the cut off marks, the eligible candidates will be called for certificate verification, Medical Fitness Test, etc. The online exam pattern which was previously followed by TANGEDCO is given below.
The question paper for ONLINE EXAMINATION (Computer based test) will be of Objective type in the Engineering standard. For Electrical Engineering it will be in English and for Mechanical and Civil it will be in English as well as Tamil.

For Engineering Aspirants: A Bachelor degree in EEE / ECE / EIE / Civil / Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Manufacturing / CSE / IT Engineering (OR) a pass in AMIE (Sections A and B) under Electrical Engineering Branch (OR) Equivalent recognized by the UGC.
Candidates should possess an adequate knowledge of the official language of the State, namely Tamil, on the date of this notification as per (Per.) FB TANGEDCO Proceedings No.42 (Secretariat Branch) Dated 28.11.2019. Tamil Eligibility Test may be conducted if the Exam is organized by TNPSC Board.
